RADAR BASED SOLUTION
Today, the first systems used by the modern armies for landing and take-offs of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which they intensively used for reconnaissance, surveillance and destruction of military targets were operator-controlled manual systems. For this reason, 50% of UAV loss was experienced during take-off and landing phases. Automatic take-off and landing systems have been developed to reduce those losses.
GPS / DGPS, laser or radar based solutions for automatic take-off and landing systems have been produced. These systems have various disadvantages such as dependence on GPS satellites, GPS spoofing, and low reliability under adverse weather conditions. Laser-based solutions have problems such as dependence on weather conditions, targeting with narrow beam and mounting difficulties. These drawbacks can be overcame with low-weight, easily transportable, radar systems that can operate in all weather conditions.
GPS-FREE RELIABLE POSITIONING IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS
Due to the unprotected nature of GPS signals against various jamming techniques, OKIS Automatic Take-Off and Landing System provides a reliable solution, especially in wartime for the automatic takeoff and landing processes of UAV’s. OKIS could also be used for improving takeoff and landing capability of helicopters during adverse weather conditions and night operations.
OKIS Airborne Segment having small size and weight could be used in almost any kind of UAV’s without causing any significant degredation on payload capacity. OKIS Ground Segment provides a safe and precise take-off/landing by sending UAV’s accurate 3D position information (range, bearing, elevation) to Ground Control Station (GCS).

OKIS Airborne Segment, having light weight, small dimensions and standard mechanical interfaces, can be integrated to different type of UAV's and other air vehicles easily. OKIS Ground Segment has a high mobility with its two man lift feature and easy installation and de-installation feature in a very short time. OKIS Ground Segment can be installed to/ demounted from any runway in 15 minutes. OKIS has a robust design against the battlefield conditions and it provides ground operators a reliable take-off and landing of UAV’s in both ends of the runways.
